The Union Community Service Fund
Protecting the health and safety of vulnerable residents in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Members and officers of Plumbers, Pipefitters & HVAC/R Services Technicians Local 525 have established the Union Community Service Fund (UCSF) to provide disadvantaged homeowners in Clark County with critical air conditioning and plumbing repair and replacement services.

For over 85 years Local 525 has been a community resource, providing free trade related services to those in need using funds donated from the wages of our members. During that time County Commissioners, City Councilmembers, and government agencies have called on us to help their constituents and customers when conditions in their homes have become life threatening. We have consistently answered the call, honored to use our talent and resources to serve the community that has given us the ability to grow and thrive.

With the growing quantity of our vulnerable population and the homes they occupy aging we find our services needed more than our volunteers or funds can support. We have established a 501c(3) and secured agreements with service and maintenance contractors to raise money and provide rapid, professional responses to those in critical need. We will use HUD CDBG income limits and presumed benefit categories, as well as partnerships with local nonprofit organizations, community partners, government bodies and elected officials to have the most comprehensive public benefit.

We intend to raise money through traditional methods, such as dinners, golf tournaments and gaming activities such as poker tournaments into our fundraising plan.
